It is hard to believe that we have been in Córdoba, Argentina for well over a year now. So much has happened in that time. The Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to care for our third team of church-planting missionaries in three countries as we continue serving with Extreme Nazarene Missions.
Our team is entering into the final phase of their work here, as we have about 4 months to go before leaving La Puerta Abierta Iglesia del Nazareno in the hands of the pastors and local leaders. We are already involving local leaders in many aspects of the Sunday services, as well as evangelism and other church events. These are exciting times for the church plant. We are honored to be a part of it.
For those of you who support us with words of encouragement, monthly and one-time financial donations, and prayer, we want to say thank you. Those things make it possible for us to continue on in ministry, and not just continue, but have a fruitful and impactful ministry.
That being said, we wanted to share about the next opportunity offered to us within Extreme. Our current term of service ends in late-April 2017.
We are excited to announce that we have been invited to stay in Córdoba, Argentina and work as a part of Extreme’s Southern Cone Field Administration Team.
The Southern Cone Field includes the countries of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chris will serve as Short-Term Missions Coordinator and Construction/Church Building Purchase Coordinator and Anndee will serve as Finance Coordinator. We will also help make decisions regarding processes and procedures within the Southern Cone and will help new church planting teams transition onto the field after training.
This is a great opportunity to use our years of experience with Extreme generally and our time of service in the Southern Cone here in Argentina specifically in order to bless the church planting process. The challenges faced and the spiritual climate in this part of South America are different from what we experienced in Peru and Ecuador, and what we have learned in our time here in Cordoba will allow us to be a blessing to those teams that come after us.
We finish the Córdoba church plant in April of next year. Our next term of two years begins immediately after. We are already working within these roles at a minimal level, and that will only expand as we work to get the next church-planting team on the ground in Salta, Argentina. April will bring the arrival of the church plant team to the city of Salta and we plan on being there to help them get settled in, do the shopping to furnish the missionary house, etc.
In order to transition smoothly into our next role and support the Salta team well as they come to the field, we are beginning to look for individuals, families and churches to partner with us as we continue to follow God’s call. We are completely donor-funded and need to raise funds for plane tickets, house setup (we will move to a small house closer to the church), normal monthly expenses, fees, taxes, etc.
If you are being called to partner with us and have questions about what we’re doing or how you can partner with us, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a meeting. We look forward to hearing from you.
If you know you would like to partner with us, you can log on to www.extremenazarene.org/team/stringer to set up monthly or one-time donations.
The need is great, but the sky is the limit for what the Lord can do in and through all of us when we work together to spread the gospel.
The future is bright for Extreme Nazarene Missions. We are glad to enter our sixth year with the ministry and be used by the Lord to help bring out an Extreme expansion of His Kingdom.
